Itai Himelboim - I am a Ph.D. Student in the school of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota. I am interested in studying the potential contribution of the Internet to democratic societies and democratic processes. I peruse this interest through the study of social networks online, such as discussion groups and networks of web-pages and blogs in the World Wide Web. I am also interested in different aspects of interactivity, mainly its subjective and objective aspects. I also study journalism ethics, including online journalism.

Shawn M. Lavelle is a Master's student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities studying artificial intelligence and social networks, he obtained bachelor's degrees in mathematics, computer science, and electrical and computer engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2002. Mr. Lavelle is a research and development engineer with Architecture Technology Corporation of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.  He is also an avid Lindy Hopper.
